It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

This week, as in earlier today, I finally finished The Assassin’s Curse. I won’t go into many details as I posted the review for it earlier today but let me just sum it up by saying I was quite disappointed with the book. So much potential and yet so very disappointing. Now that doesn’t mean you should avoid the book, for you’ll never know if you’ll like it based on my review alone, but I can say this, I won’t be reading the next book in the series.

For this week I’m hoping I’ll end up with a better read, or several better reads depending on how much time I have to invest. The first book I plan to read is Wrangled by B.J Daniels. I’m in a western romance mood so this book should satisfy that need, if not I have several others that likely can. I also have on the roster Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas and possibly Darksiders: The Abomination Vault by Ari Marmell. As always my future reads may change based upon what I feel like reading that particular day, but this is the plan at this moment.

Now I’ve recently been toying with the idea of delving into audiobooks as well to give me more reading time, though I’m not sure where to start with that. I love the actual act of reading so to have someone read the book to me feels a bit odd. For those of you who listen to audiobooks a lot do you have any suggestions of a good book or two to start with?

    • Yeah I’m not overly fond of the idea of audiobooks but lately I’ve wanted to try them to cram in more reading time when I don’t have time to hold a book. I think as long as the narrator is good then I might enjoy them but who knows. To Kill A Mocking Bird is on my eventual to read list.

  1. Listening to audio books for relaxation and diversion is just great, but consider self-improvement audios as well. Here is a brief review of an audio on how to boost your IQ score and improve your intelligence with simple training techniques – even while you are driving! Just a suggestion for ‘Whatcha readin’ this week.’

For some people, the only problem with this audio is that it available on 2 CD’s. Does anyone know how one can transfer this format to an iPod?
