Top Ten Tuesday

top-ten-tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week is the Top Ten Books I Recommend The Most.

Oddly enough this one is really hard for me. I tend not to recommend a lot of books mainly because I don’t know a lot of book loving people, I’m not talking online here I’m talking real life. But there are a number of books that I would certainly recommend to others if they did want reading suggestions, so those are the books I will list here in no particular order.

  1. Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey. This was such an amazing story in a vivid world with great characters and plenty of plot twists.
  2. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. The best mystery book I have read so far. Very interesting and a must read in my opinion.
  3. Green Rider by Kristen Britain. A great novel for both fantasy and horse lovers. It starts an amazing series that I absolutely adore.
  4. The Quick And The Dead by Louis L’Amour. An amazing book by one of the best western writers. While short the story is really great with interesting characters.
  5. Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake. Probably one of the best YA novels I have read so far, it’s a mix of horror and romance.
  6. Grasping At Eternity by Karen Amanda Hooper. Another great YA novel that while at times seemed slow was really great overall.
  7. The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. A great book not only for horse lovers but anyone.
  8. The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. Really a classic in it’s own right. A must read for all book lovers.
  9. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. By far the best book written about a horse ever, made a great movie as well.
  10. Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg. An amazing story told by one of the best characters ever written. The movie version is great as well.

  1. My list was somewhat hypothetical too; I’m just not really a book pusher. But it’s the spirit that counts, right? (I also thought The Thirteenth Tale was great.)

  2. I hate to say it, but I don’t think I’ve read The Last Unicorn. If I have, it was a very long time ago. I do remember Black Beauty, which I quite liked when I was younger. Anna Dressed in Blood is one book I poorly misjudged, I think. I never knew what it was about until I picked it up at whim from the library. Didn’t have the time to really start it, but it’s one I hope I’ll return to!

    • I only recently read The Last Unicorn after watching the movie countless times over the years. I think the movie ruined the book for me slightly but I still enjoyed it. I love Black Beauty and will hopefully find time to reread it sometime with year. You should definitely give Anna Dressed In Blood another shot, it is really good.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great reading week.

    • They are such amazing movies! Holy crud that amazing to go to school in the same town as the Cafe was in, I’m actually slightly jealous of you right now!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great reading week.
