What I did Last Week

Read

I have barely touched a book in the last two weeks. I did some reading, but not enough to finish anything.

Watched

Well, since I failed to do my Monday post the previous week, this will be what I watched in the last two weeks, which was a lot. So first up TV wise I watched a few things. I got through my regular shows on the PVR which are Homestead Rescue, My 600LB Life and Family By The Ton. I also watched the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, which was awesome. The movies I watched two weeks ago were: Dirty Dancing, Troy, Conagher, I Dreamed of Africa, Corpse Bride, The Indian In The Cupboard, Poseidon, Ivanhoe, Rainbow Brite And The Star Stealer, Tombstone, The Horse Whisperer, and Eight Below. Last week I watched the 1995 The Quick And The Dead, A Knight’s Tale, The Ghost And The Darkness, and Ride Around The World. So needless to say, I have put a huge dent in our DVD pile, since nearly all of these we decided not to keep. Lastly, I was able to watch a few movies in the theatre this weekend, which were Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Jumanji Welcome To The Jungle.

Life

I was kind of a slow the last two weeks. Mostly I spend the days playing World of Warcraft and watched a lot of movies. Last weekend I went to the city for much needed time away, plus the truck needed some major work done. I ended up staying a bit longer than expected thanks to the delays on the truck and winter weather, but made it home safely in time for another snow storm to hit that night. That meant spending most of Sunday shoveling snow.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

Hopefully I will get some reading done this week. I have been in a weird reading slump and I’m trying out different books to see which one will break me out of it.

Watching

I still have more DVDs to get through, so most of my watching time will be spent on those. Otherwise, I will be watching my regular shows on the PVR.

Life

I don’t really have any solid plans. I need to figure out what needs to get done around the house and start getting those things knocked out.

What I did Last Week

Read

Though I did some reading last week, I didn’t finish anything. I am about a third of the way through The Princess Diarist, and I’m enjoying it so far, it’s just unfortunate that I wasn’t able to finish it yet.

Watched

One of my big goals this week was to get through a big stack of movies, and I did that. Over the course of the week I watched a total of fifteen movies, which were Blade Runner, Blood: The Last Vampire, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Anastasia, The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Pale Rider, The Quick And The Dead, Seabiscuit, Hachi, Castle In The Sky, Appaloosa, First Knight, Kingdom of Heaven and The Craft. On top of that, I watched Homestead Rescue, My 600LB Life and Family By The Ton on the PVR.

Life

It was a week of ups and downs, with mostly downs, so I didn’t get as much done as I had planned. I did manage to declutter about half of the kitchen and nearly all of the computer room, but that’s about where my productivity ended. Mostly I just watched movies, played World of Warcraft and a bit of ping pong.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

I’m taking the week off reading to focus on life.

Watching

I still have so many DVDs to get through to decide whether we want to keep them or not, so that will be what I will be watching over the course of this week – and likely the weeks to come. I will also be watching the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, as it is on Monday and Tuesday.

Life

No real plans here. I’m going to see what happens and go from there.

What I did Last Week

Read

Well, I didn’t have a ton of reading time last week, but I did manage to complete a book. I had been picking away at Final Ride for a couple weeks now, but was finally able to find a good chunk of time to sit down and finish it. I enjoyed this one quite a bit and will be posting a full review of it around April.

Watched

I once again watched quite a few things over the course of the week. On the PVR I watched Homestead Rescue, My 600LB Life and Family By The Ton. Then I worked through more of our DVD collection and saw The Over The Hill Gang, The Over The Hill Gang Rides Again, The Decoy, Death Rides A Horse, The Gun And The Pulpit, and Excalibur. Finally, the last thing I watched last week was Star Wars: The Last Jedi, since it finally came into the theatre in town and we really wanted to see it again.

Life

This was another, running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off kind of week. I have really been in the groove of cleaning and decluttering our house and the week was no exception to that. I had thought about taking it easy this week and only doing one room, but then once I started I just couldn’t stop. So, I managed to tackle the hall closet downstairs, which I thought would be a quick and easy thing, but once I started I realized how much junk was in there, so that consumed several hours. I spent a while day going through all our home canned goods, making an inventory list so we know what we have an how much of it. I also took all the empty jars and stored them. Next was the entry way. While this area didn’t look too bad on initial glance, I was shocked at how much stuff was there. We had a few bins of outdoor stuff, like hats, mitts and scarves, and after emptying them out, the pile was enormous. By the time I was done going through it all, we managed to fit what we wanted to keep in a single bin. Then I decided to tackle the downstairs bathroom, which acted more as a storage room than a bathroom. In doing this, I also worked on the laundry room, since they are side by side. This little double project took a day and a half to complete but the difference is amazing. I also did a giant donation run since I would say easily 80% of the stuff that I found in the laundry room was set there for donations. So now I once again have my laundry room back and the downstairs bathroom is nearly empty as well. While I was doing this on the weekend, the boy was busy going through his playroom and bedroom, making sure if was tidied up and that there weren’t any toys in there that he didn’t want anymore. He did find a small container worth of toys to get rid of, so that was awesome. I somehow managed to find time on the weekend to also do a bit of baking. I made some oatmeal raisin muffins, some granola cereal and chopped up a bunch of veggies for the coming week. It’s not quite what I wanted to get done baking wise, but is good enough.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

I started reading The Princess Diarist on the weekend but didn’t get too far into it. My plan is to finish it this week and with luck be able to start, and perhaps even finish, another book as well.

Watching

I will be keeping up with the three shows I watch weekly off of the PVR, I would watch them when they air, but they all come on pretty late at night, so I tend to watch them the next day. I also have a stack of movies picked out that I am going to try to get through over the course of this month, with hopes of getting through at least a couple this week.

Life

The house decluttering project will continue. This week I plan to tackle the second half of the kitchen, which includes doing an inventory of our bought canned and boxed foods, as well as a freezer inventory. The next area I will likely tackle after that is one of both of the bedrooms, I know the boy went through his last week, but I want to make sure there is nothing in the closet and cupboard in there that need to go as well.

What I did Last Week

Read

It was another week where I did very little reading. I did manage to squeeze in one quick book, which was actually a reread. I read Lenore: Swirlies. This is a book I read about five years ago, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep it or not, so figured I’d give it a quick reread to find out. I’m not sure if I will review this one or not. I probably will, but it will be a very short review.

Watched

I watched quite a few things over the course of the week. On the PVR I watched Homestead Rescue, My 600LB Life, Family By The Ton, and The Incredible Dr. Pol. Then I started working through a stack off DVDs that we either haven’t previously watched, or have watched but are thinking of getting rid of but want to watch again before deciding. From that pile I watched the original 1957 3:10 To Yuma, Last Stand At Saber River, Open Range, You Know My Name, The Desert Trail, and The Proud And The Damned. As you can tell, I was in a western mood last week, so all the movies I watched were from that genre.

Life

It was another busy week here. It started off with me getting hit my another round of cold that left me struggling to get anything in the first couple of days. I soldiered through it and still managed to get things done around the house, but at a much slower pace than before. I spend two days giving our one bathroom a thorough cleaning and went through everything in it as well. I ended up getting rid of quite a bit of stuff during this process – because we seriously don’t need 20+ towels in this house when there are only three of us. Then in the second half of the week I started to go through our kitchen. I purged about half of the cupboards, getting rid of some things we don’t need like teacups, extra mugs and serving platters we haven’t ever used in the last eleven years. Though I didn’t get the whole thing done, I’m happy with my progress. I also spent a day baking and getting things ready for the boys birthday party which we had on Saturday. I ended up making a bunch of cupcakes and decorated them to look like dinosaur nests, since the party had a dinosaur theme. The party was a big success and the kids had a great time at the bowling alley and they all loved the cupcakes. Sunday I took it a bit easy again, feeling the effects of the busy week and still not being completely over my cold, so I just chopped up a bunch of vegetables for easy snacking over the next week and played a bunch of World of Warcraft throughout the day. We did play some ping pong over the course of the week as well, but not as much as we normally do because of the cold symptoms and also that the boy was using the table as a base for a major lego set-up.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

My plan is to read something this week. I don’t know what yet, but I’m going to likely pick something short so I can guarantee that I can actually finish it over the week.

Watching

I will be watching my usual shows on the PVR over the course of the week and also working on more movies from that DVD pile that we have.

Life

It’s likely to be another busy week. I’ve gotten into the groove of cleaning and purging things each day, even if it’s just a small area, so I want to keep that going until the house is 100% done again.

What I did Last Week

Read

I didn’t have too much reading time last week, though admittedly, it was more a lack of desire to read. I did manage to read Saga Volume 8. I liked it, but not as much as the previous novels. I’ll be posting a review of this series up to volume 8 in a few weeks.

Watched

I watched quite a bit of things last week. On TV I watched Homestead Rescue, My 600LB Life, The Incredible Dr. Pol, and Family By The Ton. I also managed to watch the entire first season of Hercules The Legendary Journeys.

Life

It was a fairly busy week, yet I feel I did very little. I did get the laundry room 90% cleaned out and organized, though the rest will have to wait until spring so I can get the spare fridge and a couple of other big items out. On the weekend I did some baking, making some homemade buns and dog treats. I had planned to make more things, but I got hit with a cold and had no energy to do the rest. I played a bunch of World of Warcraft as well. Mostly though, I played ping pong, especially on Tuesday when Warcraft was down for 8 hours. The weather was quite nice over the week, which allowed us to take the dog for a walk each day, at least up until the weekend, when freezing rain turned everything into an ice rink.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

I don’t really know what I’ll be reading this week, but hopefully I will get through a book or two.

Watching

I have a couple of things on the PVR I want to watch as well as getting through more of the movie/series stack that I have picked out for this month, so I will likely be focusing on those this week.

Life

I don’t have any solid plans this week per say. I do need to get some things ready for the boys birthday party, which is happening this weekend, but that shouldn’t take more than a day to do. I think I will probably take it easy, since I’m still feeling the effects of that cold that hit me over the weekend.

What I did Last Week

Read

Remember how I said I’d get lots of reading done with Bout of Books last week? Yeah, that didn’t happen. I did read about three quarters of one book but that’s it. I either didn’t have time to read, or was doing something else.

Watched

I watched quite a few things last week. On the PVR I watched My 600LB Life and Homestead Rescue. Then I watched Hercules and The Circle of Fire, Hercules In The Underworld, and Hercules In The Maze of The Minotaur.  I enjoyed the first two movies, but that last one was basically a recap of all the previous Hercules movies with about 20 minutes of actual new stuff, so it was a bit of a let down. For family movie night we ended up watching The Forbidden Kingdom, which we all really enjoyed.

Life

It was another busy week. I was mostly busy with things around the house. I did a bunch of cleaning, and then did a big reorganization project over the weekend to make room for us to finally set up the ping pong table that has been in storage for about 4 years. It took two days to get everything moved, and then a couple of hours of digging around the house to try to find a few missing parts for the table, but we finally got it set up and spent a few hours Sunday playing ping pong. I also kept up with my yoga and exercises this week and I have to say, I feel great. I only missed one day due to life getting in the way, but otherwise I have been keeping up with it. I also did some meal prep over the weekend, getting all kinds of fruits and vegetables ready to just grab an eat as well as three days worth of lunches. All in all, it was a busy but good week.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

Well, I will once again be working on finishing Final Ride. I’m about three quarters of the way through this one, so I just need to find one good hour or so to sit down and finish it. Once this one is done, I’m not sure what I will pick up next.

Watching

On top of watching a couple of things that I have on the PVR, this week I will be working through the first season of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Life

It’s the boys birthday on Tuesday. So I’ll be cooking up a special dinner for him and I have a feeling we will be playing ping pong all night. I also want to finally get around to rearranging the laundry room this week, as I didn’t quite get around to it last week. I feel like there are some other things that I need to do, but I can’t think of them at this moment.

What I did Last Week

Read

I got a pretty decent amount of reading done last week. First up, I read the first three volumes of The Girl From The Other Side. This is sort of a strange series and I’m still not sure 100% how I feel about it, but I also know I want to continue it. I will post a review of this one once I am done with the series.

Next I reread Ghosts. I had read this one last year and liked it, but never got around to writing a review for it, so I had to reread it in order to remember the story enough. I’ll be posting the full review of this one in February.

Watched

Despite being fairly busy, I also managed to watch quite a few things. Firstly, I watched Your Name. I felt this was the perfect movie to start off the new year and I really enjoyed watching it again. We ended up watching Ferdinand in the theatre in town and while I thought it was okay, hubby and the boy really enjoyed it, so that made it all worth while. I also watched Hercules And The Amazon Women, and Hercules And The Lost Kingdom. On the PVR I knocked out about a dozen episodes of The Incredible Dr. Pol, a couple of episodes of Alaska: The Last Frontier and an episode of My 600lb Life.

Life

Well, it was busy last week. I don’t know how I managed to get everything done and still find time to sleep, but I did. On top of all that reading and TV watching that I did, I also started to regularly exercise. This is one of my goals for the year, to get back in shape, and exercising plus eating healthy, is exactly how I am going to do that. I also started doing yoga, which has really helped keep my muscles from getting too sore and helping with my flexibility. The first two days were hell for this, as I could barely move afterwards, but as the week went on I wasn’t as sore and was starting to feel good about it all. I also had a big dog treat order, so I spend one day baking for that. On the weekend, I cooked up a bunch of meat for future homemade dog food, as well as did a bit of meal prep for myself for next week. I only did meal prep for breakfast and snacks this time, as I wanted to ease myself into it and not get overwhelmed by it. Since it was also far too cold to go outside during the week, I busied myself with cleaning the house and making a big list of things I want to get done this month and over the course of the year.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

Well, since Bout of Books runs this week, I will devoting a lot of time to reading. My plan is to first finish reading Final Ride, which I started on the weekend but didn’t have enough time to finish.  After that, I will just be working through as many books from my January TBR pile as I can.

Watching

I will continue to go through some shows that have been collecting on the PVR, as well as watching more Hercules. I will probably try to sneak in a movie or two as well over the course of the week if I can.

Life

I am going to continue with my daily exercising, as I’m now looking forward to it, as well as my yoga. I will also be doing another batch of meal prep on the weekend, this way when I’m hungry I don’t have to worry about cooking anything, I can just grab, heat and eat. I hope to tackle cleaning out and reorganizing the laundry room this week, as it felt into a state of chaos over the holidays and now need to be put back together.
