What I did Last Week

Read

I did a bit of reading last week, however I didn’t get any books done. Though I did make some progress with Rhapsody, as book that has been half read since October, so I’m happy with that.

Watched

I sort of ignored the TV this week. I didn’t watch anything I normally do each week. We did start our Christmas movie marathon and so far we watched Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special, Santa Buddies and A Garfield Christmas Special. I also watched Your Name again, because I just love this movie so much.

Life

I feel like this week I did nothing and yet I did quite a bit. I did a major cleaning of the house and discovered a pile of things I forgot to donate a while ago, so I took those to the donation place. I wrapped up some presents, make some decorations and placed them in my reading corner. I had a baking order, which was a bunch of dog treats, so that took up a good chunk of one day. Then I finally made a carrot cake, something I had been promising hubby and the boy for weeks now. Since the weather was quite nice, I took the dog for a walk several times, since it’s rare we have nice warm weather this late in the year. I also played a crap ton of World of Warcraft. I have been absolutely loving playing this game again, even though I had only stopped playing for a month, it felt like an eternity and I’m definitely it catch up mode.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

I’m hoping to get some reading done, but I have no idea how much reading time I will have. I do really want to focus on Rhapsody, because that book has been partially read for more than a month, so it would be nice to finally finish it.

Watching

Not real solid plans here, except that I know we will be continuing to watch a Christmas movie every day, I just don’t know which movies we will be watching yet.

Life

There will be lots of World of Warcraft for me this week. I also have some holiday baking that I want to get done, name gingerbread and some cookies. The weather is supposed to stay decently warm, so I will be taking advantage of that and walking the dog as much as I can. I will also be setting aside a day or two this week to work on reviews and some misc blog posts that I have been putting off for far too long.

What I did Last Week

Read

Didn’t do any reading last week. I thought about reading at several points, but never made the effort to pick up a book and read.

Watched

Last week I watched The Hunt, which was a documentary about predators, narrated by David Attenborough, and I quite enjoyed it. I caught up on the latest episodes Alaska The Last Frontier and Recovery of An MMO Junkie. Then I watched Hidden Figures and this movie was so darned good, I’m glad I finally got a chance to watch it.

Life

Last week was one of those weeks where I just didn’t want to do a darn thing, so I didn’t, but this also resulted in me being bored for the most part, wishing I was doing something. On the weekend, I started playing World of Warcraft again, which was awesome and I spent way too many hours playing it, but had tons of fun.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

I don’t have any set plans here, but I do want to get some reading done. I need to see what catches my eye from my shelf and then read that. This is the start of pushing towards reading as much as I can before the year ends, trying to get those last few books from my 2017 TBR read.

Watching

I’m not sure what I will watch this week. I’m sure I have a number of things on the PVR that needs attention.

Life

Let’s be honest, I will be playing way too much World of Warcraft this week, but that’s okay, because it makes me happy and gives me something to do during the long cold winter days.

What I did Last Week

Read

Well, I didn’t do too much reading last week. I did read Night of Cake And Puppets, which I had been wanting to read for some time now, but only got around to it now since I got my hard cover copy, as I don’t care for reading books on my ereader. I liked this one, but I didn’t love it as much as the main books in the series. I’ll be posting a full review of this one soon.

Watched

Much like my reading, I didn’t really watch much TV this week. I did watch an episode of Recovery Of An MMO Junkie, and I’m still really enjoying this new series. We also watched the latest episode of Star Wars Rebels. On Wednesday I got my copy of Your Name, so we had to watch it that night. This is such a great movie and even the boy loved it. Needless to say, I watched it every day after that as well. For Family Movie Night we ended up watching My Dog Skip, which was good, but not as good as I remembered it being.

Life

Life was pretty dull last week. I honestly didn’t do much, because I was lacking in motivation. Hell, I barely even did any writing as well, so now I’m quite behind on my word count for NaNoWriMo.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

No real plans with this. I may read, may not. We shall see.

Watching

I will probably continue to watch Your Name throughout the week because I just love it so much. I will also be catching up on the latest episodes from Star Wars Revels and Recovery Of An MMO Junkie. I’m not sure if I will try to catch up on my PVR stuff or leave it for later.

Life

I really need to buckle down and catch up on my writing. I didn’t write for 5-6 days last week, so I have quite a bit of word to write in order to get not only caught up but be in a good position to finish NaNoWriMo and win.

What I did Last Week

Read

I did a decent amount of reading this week. First up I read Warcraft: Bonds of Brotherhood. While it wasn’t as good as I hoped it would be, it was a pretty big let down to be honest, but I’m still glad that I read it. I’ll be posting a full review of this one soon.

Next I read Erased Volume 3. I read this one that day that it arrived because I was so eager to continue the series. I really, really enjoyed this volume and cannot wait to keep going. I’ll be posting a full review of this one soon.

Then I reread Dangerous Depths, yes again, even though I reread it only two weeks ago. I really wanted to revisit this one quickly before diving into the next one. You can read my review of this book here.

Finally I read Sacred Seas. This book was so good! I will save all my thoughts on it for my review, which should be posted either this week or next – I will post it once the book is released, but it was such a great read.

Watched

On the TV and PVR I watched several episodes of The Incredible Dr. Pol and the latest episode of Alaska: The Last Frontier The I watched the first five episodes of Recovery of An MMO Jumkie, which I’m really enjoying and can’t wait for the next episode to come out. For Family Movie Night we ended up watching Saving Shiloh, which was alright, but no where near as good as the first movie.

Life

I didn’t do much this week. Mostly it was lots of writing.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

No real plans for this. I may pick up something at some point during the week, I just don’t know what it will be yet.

Watching

I’ll be trying to keep up with things are they show up on the PVR but there is no guarantee.

Life

I will likely be mostly preoccupied with writing again. I didn’t write at all over the weekend, so I need to catch up on my word count a bit.

What I did Last Week

Read

Didn’t do too much reading last week. I wanted to read but then I didn’t I either didn’t feel like it when I sat down or couldn’t find time. I did manage to get through two short books. First was Warcraft Legends Volume 3. I’ve been enjoying this graphic novel series quite a bit and was happy to finally continue on with it.

Then I read Warcraft Legends Volume 4 and like the previous volumes, I enjoyed it but didn’t love it. I am looking forward to continuing on with this, though there is only one volume left.

Watched

I didn’t watch much last week either. I did watch the stream of the PBR World Finals each morning, and really enjoyed it. I also watched quite a bit of streams related to Blizzcon, watching all the announcements for World of Warcraft and they have me all kinds of excited. For Family Movie Night we ended up watching 10,000 BC, which was pretty good but not great.

Life

It was a pretty dull week. Mostly I was writing, which was a huge challenge. I usually have little issue writing when NaNoWriMo starts, but this year I’m struggling. Yeah, I’m hitting my word count goal, if not going over it each day so far, but I haven’t quite hit that writing groove where the words flow easily and quickly.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

No real plans for this. I will read if and when I want and choose a book based upon how I’m feeling that day.

Watching

I will be watching the final video from the PBR World Finals today. I should try to watch a few things on the PVR that have started to pile up from the previous week.

Life

A good chunk of my time will be spent writing once again. This trend will continue throughout the rest of the month. Otherwise, I don’t have any real plans.

October 2017 Wrap-Up

Now that it’s November, it’s time to look back at everything I did during the month of October. The month was pretty good overall, got a bunch of reading done along with lots of other things.

So what did I read in October?

  • Binti by Nnedi Okorafor
  • Orange: The Complete Collection Volume 1 by Ichigo Takano
  • Orange: The Complete Collection Volume 2 by Ichigo Takano
  • Old Man’s War by John Scalzi
  • Rough Rider by B.J. Daniels
  • Read Or Dream Volume 1 by Hideyuki Kurata
  • Read Or Dream Volume 2 by Hideyuki Kurata
  • Read Or Dream Volume 3 by Hideyuki Kurata
  • Read Or Dream Volume 4 by Hideyuki Kurata
  • Tangled Tides by Karen Amanda Hooper
  • Dangerous Depths by Karen Amanda Hooper
  • Rigged To Ride by Mike Flanagan

October was another sort of strange month. We had really great weather for nearly the whole month, which was nice, but weird to be out and about with just a t-shirt on most days. Usually October is sweater weather if not also coat weather. We spent some time cleaning up the yard, putting everything away, reorganizing the shed and under deck storage to make sure any winter items were easy to access. Because of the gorgeous weather I spent a lot of time outside, taking Penny for walks and just enjoying the unseasonably nice weather.

We went to the city for a pre-winter shopping trip. I feel like we have been getting ready for a couple months now, but honestly that is the case almost every year. So we spent way too much money, but that’s what happens when you do Christmas shopping along with more winter stock up supplies. It was a very long day, which happens when you spend 8 hours total driving and about 4 hours shopping.

Then on October 24 everything changed. The previous day was another gorgeous, unseasonably warm day and then we found out that a winter storm was headed out way. So after dinner, we got busy harvesting the carrots, which were the last thing left in the garden. It took us two hours to get it all done, but we got about 35 pounds of carrots, which is awesome. Tuesday we woke up to heavy rain, which shifted a couple hours later to snow and then it snowed heavily all day. We got around 6-8 inches of snow that day and it was nasty. We also ended up losing power for about four hours during the storm. Since then it has been cold and snowy every day, which means winter is here to stay. We did have to shovel snow once, as we got several more inches Friday night, so Saturday we got out there and cleared the driveway and deck.

I ended up watching a lot of TV and movies over the month. Honestly, there are too many to list, so if you are interested in knowing what I watched then you can check out my Monday posts.

Finally, on the last day of the month, we not only had Halloween, so lots of trick or treating that night, but I also finally got my butt into gear and worked a bit on my NaNoWriMo prep. I didn’t get much done prep wise for my writing, but something is better than nothing.

What I did Last Week

Read

Though I did a bunch of reading, it was spread out among several books and I didn’t finish a single one of them.

Watched

I gave the TV a bit of a workout last week. First up, I caught up on The Incredible Dr. Pol and Alaska The Last Frontier. Then I started a pretty decent scifi movie marathon over the weekend and ended up watching Mars Needs Moms, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Earth To Echo, Elysium and The Day The Earth Stood Still. All of these movies will be reviewed next month as part of SciFi Month. Then for Family Movie Night we ended up watching Matilda, which we all really enjoyed. The boy especially loved it since he recently finished reading the book and was so excited that they made it into a movie. Lastly, we watched The Addams Family and The Addams Family Values.

Life

This was kind of a crazy week. On Monday it was gorgeous, almost summer weather. I spent the day outside walking the dog and just enjoying the nice weather. By dinner time, there was a winter storm warning for the next day. This prompted us to frantically harvest out carrots, which were the last things remaining in the garden. It was a family effort to get it all done before dark, but 2 hours later, we managed to get about 35 pounds of carrots, so a pretty decent haul. Tuesday morning we woke up to rain, which very quickly shifted to snow and it snowed like crazy all day. We probably ended up with 6-8 inches of snow that day. Luckily most of it melted the next day, but we have been dealing with snow and winter weather every day since, so I think it’s here to stay. Needless to say, I spent most of the week inside, hiding from the first bit of winter.

What I Plan To Do This Week

Reading

I have a few books that I have partially read that I am going to try and finish this week. I’m hoping to get them all done but we shall see.

Watching

No real solid plans here. Will probably watch a couple more sci fi movies over the course of the week.

Life

Well, NaNoWriMo starts this week, so I really need to get ready for it and then start writing on Wednesday. I feel like most of my time will be consumed with writing this week so I can get a good solid start on my project. It’s supposed to be another snow filled week, so I’m not sure if Penny will get her normal amounts of walks or not.
